Anza Borrego Desert Bloom Retreat - Rediscover Tranquility and Renewal | April 2027

Retreat Highlights

  • Font’s Point offers what is arguably the best sunrise in all of California and is the most stunning part of Anza-Borrego. On a clear day, you can watch the sun illuminate the vast, golden landscape, stretching all the way to the Salton Sea, offering an uninterrupted view free of people or structures.

  • The Badlands are the key to Anza-Borrego’s stunning and unique character. These formations were once a tropical, water-filled area millions of years ago. Today, they are incredibly rich in history, holding over 550 different types of fossils dating back six million years, illustrating the environmental shift from tropical to the arid desert we see now.

  • Slot Canyons – Experience impressive slot canyons without traveling all the way to Utah. While they may lack the intense colors of their Utah counterparts, they possess a distinct and special beauty all their own.

  • Hellhole Canyon a 5.5-mile moderate out-and-back hike, is best attempted during the cooler months: winter, fall, and early spring. The trail features a palm oasis, a chance to spot bighorn sheep, and a bit of scrambling to reach Maidenhair Falls. The impressiveness of the falls will vary significantly depending on recent rainfall and the time of year.

  • Springtime Bloom desert wildflowers are most spectacular in years following a heavy drought and subsequent heavy rainfall. Although the precise location of the blooms shifts each season, reliable areas often include Henderson Wash, Coyote Canyon, and the Cactus Loop trail.

Following the winter rains, the usually arid landscape explodes with vibrant colors. There will be opportunities to hike among various desert wildflowers, a truly rare and memorable sight that showcases the resilience and beauty of the desert ecosystem.

Beyond the wildflowers, the surrounding area offers dramatic and stunning geological features. The retreat includes guided explorations of what is affectionately known as “California’s Grand Canyon,” a vast, rugged wilderness renowned for its deep ravines and ancient sedimentary rock formations. A highlight of the itinerary will be navigating its exhilarating, narrow dramatic slot canyons, where centuries of water erosion have carved breathtaking, winding passageways. These hikes are an intimate way to connect with the raw, powerful forces of nature.Unparalleled Celestial Views

March is the perfect time for optimal stargazing. Far removed from the light pollution of any major city, the retreat location boasts exceptionally dark night skies. Nature has always been my happy place, a source of deep joy that comes fromtruly following my passion. Out there, I felt completely free, able to drop all the daily worries and connect with something so much bigger than myself. Those trails weren’t just paths; they were my road to self-discovery and a spiritual awakening.

As I sat there meditating by the shore, staring at the horizon, something just clicked. It was a clear calling – I knew I had to share this incredible love for the outdoors with others who were looking for a similar experience. I wanted them to feel that same amazing sense of wonder that nature brought out in me. For me, exploring new trails wasn’t just about finding new places; it was about digging deep into my own soul, figuring out my purpose, and how I could really make adifference in the world. I truly believed in nature’s power to heal, change, and wake up the human spirit.

That whole hike, my mind was buzzing with ideas on how to help others experience the same joy and appreciation for nature that I held so dear. It was like inspiration was whispering, urging me to share the stunning views, the mesmerizing landscapes, and the priceless peace and quiet I was so lucky to find. I pictured myself leading groups on incredible journeys through nature, sharing everything I knew and loved about the outdoors, and helping them really connect with their inner selves.

And just like that, my lifelong dream started to become a reality. That very same year, I hosted my first-ever retreat in Napa Valley. I put together an itinerary that included hiking, meditation, yoga, and workshops focused on nature. My goal was to create a truly holistic experience that would nourish the body, mind, and soul.

The journey since then has been absolutely incredible, filled with countless trails and amazing places that just keep fueling my passion for exploration. Sharing this passion has been so rewarding. Seeing the profound transformations that happen when people truly immerse themselves in nature has been nothing short of miraculous. I’ve watched people overcome fears, rediscover joy, and tap into their inner strength. I’ve seen friendships bloom, hearts open, and lives change. I’m truly dedicated to continuing to share my love for nature and helping others find their own paths to peace, joy, and self-discovery.

I followed my heart… and it has taken me on an amazing adventure. I am delighted to share my passion with you!
