Tomales Point Private Day Retreat

Description

Breathe in the fresh salt air at Point Reyes National Seashore, the only National Park where tule elk can be found as we hike along the bluff trails and capture breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.

The history behind Tomales Point goes back to 1874 when a cattle rancher named Henry Miller discovered the tule elk on his property. He had the foresight to preserve this last isolated group and they have been there ever since. An incredibly peaceful sight to see as you watch the elk graze upon the grassy hills.

Spring is a favorable time of year, as you will find clusters of California poppies and wild Iris blankets weaved into the meadow. During a certain point on this hike, you may get lucky enough to see pods of whales breaching. After we complete the moderate day trail, we will head to the old town of Point Reyes where you will experience the essence of a true western settlement filled with quaint shops and a saloon. Grab yourself a cold beverage at the western saloon and pretend you’re in a John Wayne movie!
