Description

DESCRIPTION

Go back in time to experience true history as you adventure through this incredible day hike. Located east of the Salinas Valley is Pinnacles National Park. Born of fire some 23 million years ago, multiple volcanoes erupted, flowed, and slid to form this unique landscape. The park’s name comes from eroded leftovers on the western half of what is now an extinct volcano. This particular volcano moved 150 miles from its original location on the San Andreas Fault.

During our day retreat you will have the opportunity to hike through a variety of terrain that includes flat trails, ridges, and steep rock formations. As we trek along, you may notice the park’s prime habitat emerge from trees such as prairie falcons, golden eagles, and the inspiring California condors to name a few.  The scent of wild sage, the afternoon sun casting colorful hues on volcanic rocks, and hidden caves with waterfalls are an added bonus as we immerse ourselves in the history of this unique piece of land.
